Day 266 County Fair Flop

I'm still in weekend lazy mode, so this is going to be short. Today, I went to the county fair, they had two tables of junk, some really bad artwork and the rides were not running. The goats smelled like goats,and I saw not one single carnie, needless to say I did not eat any fair food, there was none. Still it was a pretty good day, I bought a best of Nirvana CD and had a chocolate truffle a while ago, also a drunk guy sitting on the lawn asked me if I wanted a beer, I declined. The weekend is going by way too fast and I need for it to sloooow down immediatly. I'm off to finish reading The Rouge, I got nothing else.

Day 264 and 265 Get In My Belly Food Baby

Woo Hoo! Life is getting back to normal, my car is back in it's space and I am about to hit the grocery store for vittles! Today was a supremely productive day and I'm about to start the most relaxing weekend ever encountered in the span of time and space. I am reading The Rouge on my Kindle, gonna watch the new season episodes of The Office and Parks and Recreation from last night, and I'm going to the Creek county fair tomorrow! sadly, I did not get to make my much anticipated county fair cake, due to the fact that the grocery store was too far away as was my vehicle to gather ingredients. Last night, I didn't get to blog, as I was waaaaayyyyy far away in another town, working until the wee hours of the late work day. I ate mostly cheese and trail mix all day, I was HUNGRY when I finally got home, but alas I was completely smack out of groceries, this I will remedy tonight, gonna be good eats up in my Frigidaire!

Day 171 Blue Ribbon Playa

The first day of staycation has commenced! So far I have seen the movie, Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, gone extreme cuponing, done a good deed by grocery shopping for my Grandmother, and come up with a new cake recipe in my head. It's a lot, but the week is already speeding by, times a wastin'. One of my goals for the week was to decide on a cake for the county fair and I have decided to make a Mango Salsa cake, I cannot tell you how to make it, it's a secret. Today, having explained my choice to family members, I have received two eye rolls and a "uh, I don't think there's a recipe for that". I assure you that there is indeed a recipe for it, it just hasn't been baked into reality yet. So, get ready Creek Countians, the first ever Mango Salsa cake is on it's way, have our blue ribbon ready, cause we're coming for you! Bring on your pathetic chocolate cakes and your red velvet nonsense, I came to play.

Day 130 Cake Drunk And Blue Ribbon Bound

Tonight, I'm wondering, if anyone out there has ever stared at a blank wall for 130 days or worn the same shirt, or read the same book over and over again? This is what it seems like this week, I have eaten from my kitchen for 130 days now, I need some sparkle, a little spicy, not housed in my cabinets. This morning, I had a grilled cheese sandwhich, granted, it was made with good cheese, it was not fast food biscuits and gravy and my tap water was not fizzy in any way. Sigh.....I need some new ideas, new recipes, maybe a new kitchen, with a celebrity chef, who makes me omlettes at 2am just because I demand it. Perhaps I need to dive into a new cake creation, a combination never created......maybe I make this cake for the Creek County fair! Yes!!!! That is exactly what I need, I need to make a cake for a blue ribbon or a pie? Hmmm, need ideas, maybe a chocolate strawberry rum cake, is that real? If not, it is now! I don't know, the judges may not appreciate the rum, I'll have to ponder this blossoming creation.
