Day 316 Food Against Germs

It's coming, my yearly war with Strep-throat, or is it? These are my tools of battle and I will win before it even begins! I have combined four carrots, two apples, a large piece of ginger, and a cup of raw cranberries. I have also already downed a very hot cup of Green tea with ginger, made with three bags, it was pretty strong stuff. Here's hoping that I can kick it without anti-biotics! I truly believe that everything we need to cure ourselves is available in nature and now, I'm going to prove it, bring on the Strep germs!

Day 257 Magic Tea

So, I've apparently crossed paths with some little plague filled creature and am now sporting a growing chest cold, great! Ah well, it is merely an opportunity to test drive my natural cures for another season. Right now, I am employing my old standard of green tea with ginger and cayenne, I have added a new element for flavor, jello powder. I ate mango for dinner, hopefully this will add to my immune building experimentation here. I'm taking the day off tomorrow for one, to spare the spread of the funk, for two, I have to take my car back to the shop, as the engine light began flashing, 50 miles from home today. I just paid 1700.00, for that price, I should be driving a cloud with dinner service and piped in angel music. For three, I'm trying to kick this illness before Sunday, which is supposed to be a fun day/work day thingy. OK, wish me luck and wellness.

Day 33 Waiting For The Olive Fairy

I just returned from the parking lot. That may sound like a benign sentence, but I assure you that it was a long and arduous journey, all 50 feet of it. Luckily someone shoveled through the chest high snow drift, separating us from the outside world and I was able to reach my car to warm the battery. This will be as far as I get for a few days, as all exits are blocked, there's not a plow in sight, and well, the snow refuses to move it's self. If I don't get out of here soon, I'm going to have to tunnel through the sewer to the grocery store, I'm talking Shawshank style. I'm sick of chili and today I made the worst cornbread anyone has ever made, it literally tasted like I just shook the bag of corn meal into my mouth and swished it around with river water. Right now, I'm chewing gum, the fake strawberry flavor reminds me that there are real strawberries out there somewhere, in a produce section far far away. I really, really miss olives, I know they must still make them somewhere in the world!  If the Red Cross ever finds me, huddled here in my apartment, cold and hungry, perhaps they will bring olives to revive me. OK, enough wishing and hoping, one thing I am thankful for and swimming in, is tea, I have a 100 count box of green tea, ginger tea, Lipton iced tea, and Saw Palmetto herbal tea. So, if the good Lord is willing and the pipes don't burst, at least I won't die of thirstation.

Day 7 and 8 This is getting easier

Soooo, yesterday I had a salad from Whole foods, is this considered fast food? I don't think it is, since it is a grocery store and I bought other groceries while I was there...and it was healthy. Today, I went searching for the fabled herb store and found only, an Asian market. I bought a box of 100 count Green tea bags, which will be my substitute throughout my anti-soda challenge. My mom and brother are also taking my lead on no fast food, as we declined to partake after our bookstore outing. My brother, who is only 17 suggested stopping for lunch and my mom talked him in to the buffet behind their refridgerator door. Maybe I will influence a movement! http://www.fastfoodboycott.blogspot.com/
