Wow, day 240, it seems like we should be coming to some sort of conclusion on this thing sometime soon. Today, a co-worker made me doughnuts, for reals! So, for breakfast, I had those and a chocolate chip cookie for a little a.m. sugar love. In the afternoon, I had cupcakes, I ate many cupcakes, in fact I had to lie down on the floor for a while because I was so full of frosting and cake. I was a living breathing mass of sugar for a short period of time and still have a little bit of a buzz hours past the consumption point. Later, I had to walk a pretty good ways so all that sugar probably fueled me home from the corner to the door. For dinner, I had what will probably be a tri-weekly affair from now until the car repair is paid off, I had potatoes again, tomorrow, I'll swap off for the beans, next day potatoes, you get the idea. At least I know, I won't starve these last few months before this challenge comes to an end, perhaps, I'll lose a few more pounds to ring in those first few days of restaurant mania, sure to ensue in January. Here's to locking down with beans and taters, bring it on!

Day 179 Horders...Freezer Stories
Sigh....all of this typing is becoming tiresome, but here I sit, click, click, clacking away, attempting to entertain my self and the masses about what I had for dinner, in place of fast food. Well, I'll tell ya, tonight, I had tomatoes, a whole bunch of them, they were delicious and there's not much more to say on the subject. I just squirreled away some more squash in the freezer for the winter and I have to say, it's getting a little crowded in there. Storing food makes me feel very satisfied, I love seeing rows and rows of food, all neatly arranged and ready for the winter. Earlier this week, I was going to make a blackberry cobbler, which I have yet to do, so perhaps, when I'm done bloggedy blog blogging, I'll go ahead and get on that. I kind of don't want to make the cobbler because that means I have to remove the berries from my freezer stash and I like looking at them. I'm so bored, it's no wonder I've become a food horder, I wish I could make a seven tiered cake or the world's biggest lasagna....gotta be something fun out there to make! Perhaps it's just not fun unless I share, I guess I can share cobbler, it's just kind of messy. Oh, I know, I will make my practice county fair cake into cupcakes and share them with those worthy of my company and my creative wares. If you get a cupcake, you know you've made it into the "A" group...hold your breath.

Day 79 This Search Party Deserves A Whole Jar Of Cookies
This has nothing to do with food, but everything to do with my state of mind at the moment, as I sit here, in my living room, listening to Spring outside my open window, I hear several little children discussing my note regarding my missing pooperscooper. The note reads: "To whomever took my pooperscooper: I'm sorry that you felt the need to steal from me, I probably would have given it to you, had you asked. I'm having a really crappy week and I really liked my pooperscooper, please return it so that Karma does not rain down upon you." The kids thought the crappy week part was funny and they decided to form a search party to look for it, I even heard one of them tell his dad that I was having a crappy week to justify, leaving the yard to join the party. I have to say that I have been more upset about my missing pooperscooper than about my car but this little gesture makes me smile. I wish I had something to give them as a reward, at the moment, I have nothing, so I went outside and thanked them for looking, we have to encourage these kinds of things.
Tonight I made a dish that started out as one thing but evolved into something else. I started with butternut squash, baking in a pan, I added water, oil, and garlic, as well as the frozen vegetables I have been using this week, chipolte style. While the vegetables were cooking, I added rice and some other spices. The end result was pretty good and I have enough for lunch and dinner tomorrow, not very exciting but good stuff none the less. Perhaps I'll have to make some cookies or cupcakes for the little darlings who bring my scooper home.

Day 55 Pitch Till You Win Potluck Countdown
Tomorrow is the day I 've been waiting for, because our office potluck is the closest I'll get to a buffet for at least another 10 months. It's kind of like the Super Bowl, who's going to bring their game? Who's going to walk away with bragging rights, who's going to sit on the bench, and who is going to be the halftime show? Let me just say, that I am that show and I'm not inviting the Black Eyed Peas....let's get ready to rumble. So, the line up includes, two people bringing chips and salsa, (somebody failed to read the list) Guacamole is back, which I am now ready for, after a break. Shredded chicken chili, is making an appearance (sadly verbotten in my world), Lil' smokies, (ditto), and a vegetable tray, (score one for my team.) Taco soup, cookies and cupcakes round out the party. I don't know what taco soup is but I'm crossing my fingers that it does not contain any doe eyed cow friends and on the dessert front, it's already shaping up to be a double bonus day if the cupcakes are not just a rumor. I, of course am bringing the super secret, patented baked mac and cheese, I may share the secret, if proper adulation is bestowed upon my creation... hold your breath. Despite my anticipation, one thing about our special lunch makes me very, very sad, I will have to bring my own drink. There will of course be a jewel colored array of sprightly spritzers, none of which are presently welcome in my world. I'll have my H2O clean, on the rocks, with a twist of fluoride please.
All I have to say to my co-workers is BRING IT! Let the chowing down commence.
