Day 273 and 274 Fruity Kind Of Weekend

This has been the shortest weekend on record! I have been working non-stop, taking care of business, and trying to eat right. For the most part I think I've done pretty good and I've been super productive. Yesterday I bought the best fruit and that's what I had for dinner, along with brussell sprouts, yep mango, grapes, and brussell sprouts, don't judge, they were delicious.
Today I weighed and I really do prefer my grandmother's scales to my mom's because hers say I've lost 10 pounds as opposed to the five at my mom's. I've been so busy today that I haven't had much time to eat, I'm going to be working until bedtime and then up at 5:00 to get ready for the week, it's only Sunday and I'm exhausted.

Day 202 Grape Juice On A Stick

I just had the absolute best salad in the world, it had a little bit of everything, raisins, kale, cashews, grapes, it was heaven. I have to say that the grapes were the best part, I've grown quite cozy with the lowly grape lately. If those out there know me at all, you will know that I am not a fruit person at all, but grapes are the exception. I also dig grape juice and just at this very moment, am having a thought about making grape juice popsicles....if only I had juice on hand. It is too late to grocery shop for juice, especially if I want to do it bullet free and actually get home to make the popsicles. Tomorrow is the weekend and I am so looking forward to sitting in the air conditioning doing nothing, I may just make a little bag of ice and tie it to the top of my head, I'm not out to make a fashion statement, I just don't want to die of the sunshine sweats. I have to stop typing now, my fingers are starting to sweat.

Day 193 Hit Me With A Frozen Grape

Finally today, it rained! This is good news for the garden, which was so dry, that yesterday, a squirrel ate one of our tomatoes for the moisture. It was a really big tomato too. Tonight I was feeling a little lazy and made rice and broccoli for dinner, it was just one of my many disaster rice boxes, I've been collecting with coupons, I figured I could spare one, as I don't see any signs of Apocalypse. Tomorrow we are having a special lunch for some of the kids we work with and I am providing the pizza, of which I will not partake so, technically I'm buying fast food but it's not for me so it doesn't count. I'm bringing grapes, big fat red ones, some green ones, I'm kind of obsessed with grapes right now, I had some this morning that were so cold and crispy and sweet, they were like little snowflakes on my tongue, as I melted away in hell. Whomever is in charge of the thermostat up there needs to turn it down a notch, if I sweat anymore, I may just disappear altogether, just vaporize into the Oklahoma dirt. I may get over my fear of the public swimming pool in my backyard tomorrow and jump in. However, I may need to boost my immune system before I do this, who knows how many filthy kids have peed in it in the past week. Stay Cool America.

Day 23 Apples Shmapples

Today, I returned from the grocery store with something new, apples. I know, apples are as old and as common as the snakes that push them. Apples are new as far as my grocery list is concerned. I do not prefer them and generally just like to look at them or smell them in candles, but this week, I am going to eat them, along with a bunch of other fruit. I am adding fruit to my repetoire and I'm going try and choke some down every morning. Before I stopped eating out, I rarely consumed fruit, aside from the occasional grape or strawberry, but since I am broadening my experiences, I'm going to find a way to make apples enjoyable and edible. I'm thinking smoothies may be the way to go on this one, which means I may have to get up earlier, not neccessarily a bad thing. Breakfast is the one meal I miss grabbing on the way to work, every day I used to have an egg and cheese buscuit from McDonald's, a hashbrown or two, and a big fat Coke, so greasy, so buttery, so full of fizz and sugar. Ok, enough of that! I'm proud to say that I was 5.00 under budget for groceries today, coming in a 95.00 which should last for about 2 weeks! I am rocking the money saving vibe with this project and still had money left from my last paycheck (a new thing). I also attacked the fridge and have a lovely open space for the tons of vegetable projects scheduled for this week....including the one I've been eyeing from afar. So, my goals for this week, face my fear of fruit, create some new recipes, and celebrate my monthlong victory! Only 11 more to go!
